Expense Report Policies Available with Custom Approvals
You can now apply expense report policies when you submit an expense report with custom approvals. Expense reports can be in Open, Pending, Approve or Reject approval status. A warning message appears if the expense report does not pass all of the policies.
For all user roles except the Administrator role, expense reports must meet the defined policy criteria
before your users can save them. When you log in with the Administrator role, you should evaluate each expense report before saving the record. Previously, expense reports were not evaluated against expense policies when using custom approvals. For more information, see the help topic Expense Report Policies.
Improvements to Corporate Card Integration
In NetSuite 2021.2, using corporate card integration, you can now do the following:
- Pass additional fields from a credit card statement to the imported employee expense record. Previously, only a given set of American Express fields were accepted.
- Using a custom SuiteScript code, import corporate card charges to an imported employee expenses record. The imported employee expense record is now fully exposed to SuiteScript.
- Using custom plug-ins, import corporate card data from American Express, Visa, Mastercard, or other providers. Previously, only the American Express card was supported. Creating custom plug-ins was not available due to record limitations. For more information, see the help topic Corporate Card Expenses. 401(k) Retirement Plan Setup You can now set up 401(k) retirement plans to automatically calculate employer matching based on your company’s policy. When setting up a retirement plan, you can do the following:
- Define a 401(k) plan based on an employee’s gross income or a group of eligible earnings.
- Select the employee contributions that the 401(k) plan supports.
- Select the employee contributions that the employer will match.
- Set up employer matching based on a basic or advanced formula.
- Derive the respective deduction and company contribution payroll items from a 401(k) retirement plan. For more information, see the help topics Retirement Plan Setup and Deriving a Pay Rate from a Retirement Plan. Change Custom Elective Deferral Limits and Automatic Catch-Up
Calculation
You can enable the new Decrease Elective Deferral Limits and Automatically Calculate Catch-Up preference on the Set Up Payroll page under the Preferences subtab. When enabled, this new preference lets you do the following:
- Decrease the annual elective deferral limit for specific employees on their employee records.
- Decrease the annual catch-up limit for specific employees on their employee records.
- Calculate catch-up contributions automatically for eligible employees who have a catch-up deduction
payroll item on their record. Eligible employees meet the following requirements:
- Reach the annual elective deferral limit.
- Be 50 years of age or older by the end of the current calendar year. For more information, see the help topic General Payroll Preferences.
Performance Management Enhancements
The Performance Management feature introduces the following enhancements:
- New Areas of Focus
- Performance Review Enhancements
- Goals Portlet Enhancements
New Areas of Focus
Areas of Focus encourage employees and managers to collaborate on a list of focus areas for the
employee’s career development. If you are an employee, you can create and manage your areas of focus to record areas of your career development you want to focus on. If you are a manager, you can provide guidance for your direct reports by creating areas of focus for them. Areas of Focus are available on performance reviews and through a link on the Goals page. Employees can then assign an Area of Focus to each goal to keep their goals aligned with their focus areas. You can also filter the All Goals page by an area of focus to view goal progress toward your career development or the career development of your direct reports. For more information, see the help topic Areas of Focus.
